Is there an alternative starter motor that will fit the Bis?
I am going to look into getting it recon but I can't find anyone near me yet that does it!

Hi John.
I contacted Barton and they wanted reconditioned £80 + vat exchange with a £50 surcharge. Delivery £10 + vat.
So like I say Mister -Auto starter is a bargain.
I'm just ordering mine NOW.

Have you tested the starter motor? Connect the starter motor across a battery as in the photo, If the motor spins the fault is in the solenoid mounted on top, These can be bought separately for about 23 euro,

Hi Pete, it is the solenoid that's dead (all those years of me trying to get my car to run properly, when infact it was ok all along).
I might be getting rid of both of them anyway. I'm defo selling my a/c because its sat there for too long doing nothing plus I need the space. The same chap who is buying the a/c will hopefully buy the Bis as well.
Oh well
Cheers for your help

No-No don't sell it, Just when you've sorted it, It will be worth allot more in a couple of years
I know that 126's haven't got as many computers as the cars you work on
So keep hold of it
