Hi everyone, thought I would introduce myself after a long time lurking. Just acquired a 1990 126 BIS for my son. It will be his first car, he's wanted one since the first time he saw one in Poland. This site has been invaluable when looking for a BIS, what to look out for etc. The car only has 8,000 miles ? on it, apart from some small rust under the front lip of the bonnet the rest of the car is clean and tidy. It's taxed and tested so ready to use straight away. Having never driven one before I realise the brakes are not the best, need to plan a head for any braking. My son has a few plans insurance permitting, but I think once we get her home that we'll be looking at getting a front disc brake conversion, electronic ignition and possibly electronic fuel pump to make the car more reliable. I'm good with a set of spanners but no good at welding. Took the whole family to look at her when we first saw her. The whole family smiled and laughed. don't think any other car has had that effect on them before. Simon.
