Alternator drive belt (9.5mm or 10mm wide)
« on: February 22, 2014, 10:02:38 PM »
Received a belt amongst other stuff from axel, but it is 10 x 725 and protrudes a bit too much from the pulley for my liking. It should be 9.5mm I think?

Do you reckon it will be ok, or should I change it?

That's not a problem Andy, once you put the new belt on drive the car for 1/2 hour let the engine cool and re-check the tension :)

Ok thanks Pete, also noticed the alternator rotates very freely, is that normal or should there be some resistance?

That's normal, You only get resistance when there is a load on it ;)
