1998 A/C engine and gear
« on: December 05, 2013, 06:24:17 PM »
Is anybody in the need of a engine? 88000km. and with electronic igntion and a catalysator. I don't need it, workes great, drove from Poland to Norway with just some minor problems(carb got lose and exhaust broke)

As said the exhaust have broken.
Got some interior and the gearbox too. The only down side is that everything is in Norway. :)

How much are you looking for?
I just have to look into shipping costs obviously, unless of course you know the cost to send it to the UK?

I don't have a clue with the price. :) how does €150 sounds? for gear and engine, and hte parts for the ignition. I altso have the gear link, but the steel barrel that goes to the gearbox is cut of, but if you can use the rest?

I'm going to Amsterdam 21 desember, and futher down to Brussel the next day, I can see if it fits in the car we are driving down and if you can meet me there. :)

Sounds pretty fair to me although by the time we have made the journey it's going to work out a tad pricey, if no one else comes forward I will likely say yes to that offer though, likely meeting you in Amsterdam.
Your other vehicles sound very interesting by the way!

Sooo, should I bring the engine and gearbox? I don't want to have it in the trunk for the whole holiday, so I take it with me if you are 100% sure. :)

Sadly I can't get a ferry at a reasonable price, the trip will end up costing me nearly £600 with fuel!
The engine is extremely cheap though and very well worth it.
Unless I can find an excuse to get paid to come to Norway I don't think that I will be able to have it.

Would love to see what you are doing with these other cars though.
I have a daihatsu Midget 2 van with a Suzuki GXS-R750 engine in it...140 BHP sequential gearbox and 2 stage nitrous to be fitted soon  8)

Got numerous other vehicle projects on the go too ... http://www.attitudeautos.com/ check out the vehicles in building attitude

My apologies for raising your hopes

Hi Jokke,

Do you still have that engine? I'd be interested if it was possible to send it to me here in Japan, somehow.

I can check a little on the postal. somebody know how much a ac engine and gearbox weighs?

Yes, is distributorless, its a hall sensor and Nanoplex system.

it's something like this, this is fitted in Cinq 704 cmm.

After checking through some posts, there's a reckoning of around 54kg. That seems about right as I've lifted the aircooled engine before and it's not so difficult. If you drain the oil from the sump and gearbox and remove the exhaust (as honestly I can't use it looking like that in Japan) that should make it a bit lighter as well!  :D

I'll look into private courier companies, perhaps Tol or TNT would be a good choice. As for shipping I'm quite happy to put it on a boat and wait a few months to lower the cost  ;)
