I decided to take a look at the carb today to check the idle jets... but they were secure... however I noticed that the choke mechanism on the butterfly (which I sourced/installed) had came off. Reattached and worked it a little and the car started first turn of the key as it should and with no RPM rollercoaster symptoms. Just behaved perfectly!

Received my Axel Gerstl order so will be replacing gearbox mounts possibly later this evening or tomorrow along with a few other little bits! Just need to wait for my master cylinder seals from Poland and then I can get it booked in for MOT! :).

That's great news! :D glad to see your fortune is turning somewhat given the disaster of a time you've had with it. You just have to  perceiver sometimes but the hard work has paid off now.

So decided to replace the gearbox mounts today with the fresh ones from Axel... as you can see the old ones are spent and looking rather rough! :).

Waiting on my seals for the brake master cylinder from Poland now :).

Tempted to get a few varieties of differing durometer urethane and perhaps attempt to salvage something out of them. A set of emergency gearbox mounts lol

So sorted a few things out on the car over the past week, a leak at the master cylinder (changed the seals, but ended up being a split broken plastic elbow! doh.). Undersealed the car which took a fair amount of cans of Tetra Schutz! Discovered I was missing a leaf spring bump stop at the front, need to get that sorted ASAP. Received many a new part from Germany and Poland and now all I need is a battery clamp and waiting on one more rubber (Debica Vivo's from Seicento space savers) to arrive then MOT is due. Sorted out my reverse and fog lights, nice new air filter, treated her to some coolant now its leak proofed, new interior light lens and more but I've forgotten for now. lol.

This evening I decided to start on T-cutting the car with help of a friend and my dad, we gave up fairly quickly and will continue tomorrow properly! Amazing difference though really :).

Some pictures to follow anyway, and a few part numbers to keep in mind for the future for personal reference!

I wrote most of this ^^ this morning... the other seicento space saver turned up... seems I have two varities of debica vivo's in the same model (but slightly different manufacturer logo molding) but all pretty much brand new. All but one have the center tread pips in place and the one that doesn't looks like it might have been used once if not just rolled along the floor! The rims though, they were interesting, one of the seicento space savers appears to have had a factory welded spacer :S. Perhaps from a sporting or something and required higher offset? Seems a dodgy method of spacing a wheel out though and not sure it would be legal but maybe OK for a space saver spare lol. Managed to get me a full set of practically new tyres for £70 quid so not bad :).

Ordered my leaf spring rubber tops so they'll be here shortly.

So... as I was saying... pictures!

Missing a "Door stay" from here:

Some pictures from when the gearbox/engine were off (the seicento alloys came in useful in the end):

Small pile of goodies that arrived:

Master Cylinder plastic problem (are replacements even available? Had to get creative and plastic weld this one up) and old seals:

Headlining clips (Need two more of these if anyone has any lying around!):

All wheels off ready for bleeding and undersealing:

Some underseal shots (Still need to touch up a few bits here and there where the jack was and theres a couple of dry spots on these pics which were blasted after!) 2 new cans and half an old one later:

Nice new tyre:

One nice new air filter:

And the T-cut:

Few part numbers that may prove useful in the future:

Conrod Shells:

Carburettor repair kit:

Air filter box:

I noticed on a recent test drive that the speedo is all over the place... wondering if I didn't put the cable back in the gearbox properly...

Great work! I too did the debacia space saver trick (I'm now running wider 145 michelins now) I got 5 for around £80 in total and like you say they were unworn - but old as they stopped importing seicentos into the uk around 11 years ago. The little spacers you talk of are they on the wheel bolt holes?

Hmmm I guess they could be 10 year old! Rubber on these feels and looks lovely though so don't think they've seen extremes of any temperature fluctuations over the years. The spacer is on the back side of the wheel and welded in 4 places... looks maybe 5-7mm thick. The bolts do pass through it also yeah. I had a seicento space saver from my old cento but unfortunately the debica tyre on that one states "spare tyre only" so no good for MOT purposes.

Tempted to do something with all these space savers though... perhaps get em banded to fill the arches out or just paint them up and use them. ET is a little different and the they're an extra half inch wide. Sit about 6-7mm closer to the strut and 3mm out I believe.

The tyres have gotta be younger than the others on these wheels I had off wsmitwil though for sure! No cracks and lush young looking rubber lol.

I thought about getting some 145's but fuel efficiency! And new 145's would cost me 35-40 per tyre without fitting I guess :(.

So today I finished up t-cutting and waxing the car (some color magic blue wax that was in the cupboards around my parents)... so many hours! My fingers are worn out from heat/friction/microfibre cloth abrasion. I wish I had a buffer, would of been so much quicker. Tried restoring some of the trim, some wasn't too bad but the front bumper is pretty tired. I think painting it black is perhaps the way forward!

But after all the hard work, finally the car no longer looks like it needs a respray and an eyesore on the front garden lol. Transformed it really, I can see my reflection in pretty much all of it and i'm pretty impressed with the transformation. Sweating it out today was worth it but I think i'll be paying for it tomorrow! :).

Some pictures:

Just a few bits too address but all in all i'm pretty happy with the outcome, no longer flat pastel faded blue but shiny to look at and touch :). The roof could be better and will probably have another once over but for now it will do.

Just waiting on leafspring rubber stops that should arrive tomorrow to address the missing one. Sort out the tyres (Probably paint the steels black or silver), figure out a battery clamp solution, But think its getting closer!

Bugger! I did put the word out but I don't think anyone ever checks the wanted section :( lol.

Thanks for the kind words, my first real handjob... what an experience :) haha.

I need to find some rubbers for around the front indicators as they're well green and perished. Looks like i'll be needing a window seal in the future as theres a couple of scuttle areas that need attention... but having seen some poor buggers purchases the body work is fairly good on this afterall... rolling road restoration here it comes!
