Wiper removal
« on: February 17, 2006, 03:17:43 PM »
My front wipers are a little rusty and I have some new rubber for them. Is there a trick to taking them off? Do they pull off a spline or is there a retaining clip?
I want to oil the springs and repaint them so I want both arms removed

Any advice?

Thanks

hi,i always pull the arm up from the windscreen and pull the wiper blade down.they should be pretty straight forward.if the clips break you local car shop should stock them.just take the old one with you.also ir you lift the wiper arm up and pull towards you this will take the whole arm and wiper off.they are only pushed on and arent bolted to the motor.they are like this on my aircooled and should be the same on the bis.hope this helps.

oh,and put some tape underneath the wiperblades when you remove them.this way you know exactly where they went before.so it wont come to far down and damage the car.(paintwork)
