1983 Fiat 126 brown A/C £595 ovno
« on: March 14, 2012, 08:46:06 PM »
Up for sale is my 1983 126 A/C with no tax or test, its the brown spec with front head rests and cloth upholstery. It also has opening rear windows and a heated rear screen. The car has done 41k and runs like a Swiss watch.I replaced the gearbox last year as old one had a noisy first/reverse gears. This car is solid in all the right places, floors, sills, wheel arches are all good. There are a couple of places where rust is starting to show but is only minor bits. This car needs no welding at all and has only received one small patch to the bottom of the spare wheel well.It has never been resprayed and wears its original paint and touch ups very  well. The interior is not to bad but the drivers seat is a bit thread bare, though this has never bothered me as i have always used covers.Car is fitted with rear seat belts and a jvc cd radio with period pye speakers on the rear shelf.Car is still wearing its original dealer number plates.
What does it need for mot?
2x small rear brake pipes
front o/s wheel cylinder
steering rack (damaged but still works!)
rear springs? I cut a coil out to lower car so you may want to replace, front has not been lowered
plugs and leads need replaced though car still starts and runs
Please be aware the car is on sorn and has no mot so will need to be transported.A few quid and a weekends work and it will be back on the road. This is not a spares car, just a car that needs a few spares to put back on the road.I will also include a roof rack, a set of chinq alloys which need painted a pair of new front shocks( rear replaced last year)the original gear box which works fine just noisy first/reverse haynes Manuel and any other bits ive got.  I am looking for a good home for this little car as it has a sentimental value to me.Please no silly offers.plenty of pictures here http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/munch_031/fiat%20126/
Forgot to mention there are a few little dents around car but it is nearly 29 years old. Also comes with service book stamped up to 37k,rust treatment book, old mots and some bills.

Yep sold to me  :o
Hope your all a friendly bunch of owners, I come from Land Rover land.
I owned two 126s in the early 80s and always wondered 'What if' n 'Why did I sell that...'
So hopefully I can give Colins' car a good home.
Garage construction is been thought up as we speak.
Looking forward to many years happy interaction.
Cheers  ;D

No modifications planned as I like my cars to be as they were designed.
I hope to have it back on the road this summer and maybe a full re-build sometime.
Hope to use it as just as a second runabout n toy.
Not actually got it yet, Colin is waiting for me to collect it.
Will post some pics later but there are plenty in Colin's link above.

Hello.

Well done, looks to be good one. They do fit inside large vans, might make it easier to pick up.

Will keep you updated Colin. Will be posting requests on here. Know where I can get a better ' brown' drivers seat? I think she would love one.... haha.  Cheers
