torquing the head
« on: March 09, 2012, 04:48:33 PM »
The head is coming off on Sunday, so I need to know what order I need to torque up the bolts and the torque pressure (yes it probably is in the manual, but I thought I'd ask and save time) :$.  Also how can I make sure the engine is nice and clean before the head goes back on?
I can't wait to get her going again cuz I'm sick of paying a fortune for diesel.

P.S. wash the engine off with paraffin/engine cleaner then jet wash or hose down before you take the head off, its nicer working on a clean engine ;D

New head back on, all I've got to do now is check the timing. ;D
Oh I did the usual silly thing! I forgot to secure the bottom hose before refilling the coolant and as you guessed it, it all went on the floor! :$

disaster struck!!! I did what the manual said and took out the dissy and aligned the pulley with the marks, then I got my strobe light out and the bloody thing doesn't work  >:(
If I just left it alone it at least it worked but now I know I've got a nightmare of a job without the strobe light.

Nah I was fartin about withit for hours (waisting the battery) and I still couldn't get the thing to fire up and run.  Why, oh why, oh why did I mess, I mean it worked before but just wasn't running properly.  Now nothing!!! :rant
I couldn't get it turning over properly to actually use a strobe light! Even if I had one! :rant
