How am I expected to see a sign ? My windscreen is tiny ! What a brilliant day ! Nice to put faces to names , Lina some more details about your trip home ? I left at 1 cos I had a cold , but I was so glad I went , I got Luigi off the clock at 85 mph ! On the way home , downhill in the fast lane !
I was so knackered when I got home I went to bed at 4 and got up at 7 this morning !

Good day and good to see you all !

Morning folks!

Yes, it was really great to see everyone and put names and faces to nicknames on the forum! :D

I made it home with only two breakdowns, neither of which involved fire lol!  If I ever think fondly of a breakdown, it'll be the one I had in the Dartford toll lane on the way back... she wouldn't start again (fuel filter empty, as happens when it's hot) and I knew it would be at least 10 mins to cool down before I'd see petrol again.  Graham and I pushed the car out of the way to let others through, but in seconds, we had a traffic patrol vehicle with us.  They closed the lane off for us and came round ready for towing us (funny moment of asking if it needed water and also to be aware the steering will be heavy with no power steering!!) Then was towed out of the way, meaning about five other lanes were paused while I was 'forcibly removed' lol and taken to a large car park area beside the tolls.

Finally, when it had cooled enough, I tried to start her up, but the battery was flat!! So, went to the office hut and asked if anyone would be able to give me a jump start, to which they said 'no'.... but what about a push?  So I had two patrol officers giving me a bump start, and of course, we started up.  The patrol officer then said she'd follow me back round to attempt the tolls again, just in case I broke down again, which I didn't.  Although I expected her to peel back off to the car park area again, she ended up escorting me through the tunnel, and when she finally pulled off, I saw another patrol vehicle behind her - two officers escorted me through!!  LOLOLOL  ;D Felt like royalty!  :P  (I shall be writing an email to thank them!)

Anyhoo, didn't stop again until Colchester, despite knowing petrol was going to be quite low, and managed to get about a mile from home until I got caught up in traffic again, which I knew was going to be the car dying again, and it was.  Right on a major roundabout.  Pushed out the way and waited again and then made it the final bit of the journey...!!

Good news from all this - my petrol light works!!  It came on in Colchester, whoo hoo!! lol  And despite the breakdowns, I'm dead chuffed the car made it there and back under it's own steam!! ;D

Thanks everyone for your help and support :D

Great to see all of you again. Shame about the weather. I was surprised how many people still turned up.

Lina I`m glad you made it home!!! You`ll have some stories to tell in the pub. A police escort through the Dartford tunnel is quiet something :o

I was pleased to get home to be honest as a big exhaust, completely stripped out interior and motorway driving is not a good combo.

We haven`t taken even one photo, but someone sent me these. ;D

 Rusty thanks for the parts!

Good pictures Pete but is it just a coincidence that Lina is being followed by an ambulance and if you pan out is there also a police escourt and a fire tender in her convoy  ;D
After a severe ear bashing from Lad-the-Slav then later from Smallcox I got up at 6am and changed my distributor etc to try and overcome the latest probs with the 126. Set off and made it about 3 miles before the engine started cutting out. Limped back home, conking out a couple of times then ended up going to Brooklands in my wife's Fiat Panda. Now I am sure I counted 5 126s there. Lad was in his 127, I think he calls it Joseph as it has a coat of many colours  :P
So there was Lina , Smallcox, the Duke & Amateb8 so who did I miss ?
