Hi all, im new to the forum & in the process of re-building my 650cc aircooled polski 1979.
Iv owned it a few months now, iv got it through its mot after a few little jobs (new kingpin, wheel bearings, clipped out brakelines etc)
I took it out for a drive last week for the first time & it completly overheated! the engine is now seized but should be completly stripped down tomorrow if all go's to plan!! Our first thought for the cause of engine failure was fan failure but after taking the head off & removing the sump we found it to be in good order.
We're guessing its the thermostat failing to operate the flap thats caused it to over heat now!??
Im hoping to get some advice from fellow 126 owners when re-building the engine, im wanting to keep it original but was thinking about boring the cylinders out & fitting new pistons? as the old ones are quite bad & the rings are gone, crank bearings gone aswel!!!
I was thinking of upgrading the carb aswel with maybe a webber?
But heres the big question!!! Has anyone on here fitted a supercharger to an air cooled?
Thats my plan!!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated
THANKS
