126 De-Ville - 1979 - Pricing help please!!!!

For the year check the VIN code:

SU-SZ Poland
ZA-ZR Italy

F for FIAT

Mine is SUF126A00081... where SU is PL, F is FIAT, 126A000 the model of the engine,
then 81 for the year 1981, then the chassis number itself.

For the Italian made in 1979 must be sort of ZFA126A00079...

Personal 4 was produced 1976-1979 in Italy with 4x98 rims. The same model in Poland
was 650K since 1977. The export version was branded Bambino 650 (1980-1984).

Hi - I went over to see the car today - and here are the details on the VIN plate:

top line says cmologazione and under that in a box DGM - then next to that stamped in 167690M
next box down has Autoleaio - chassis above and in the box 126A1 then printed *5240301* - the next box down says Motore Engine - 126AI.000 - also the top right hand corner says FIAT - made in Italy - there are some other numbers but the photo i took doesnt make them clear - they are under the last box i mentioned and there is a colour code at the bottom which looks like 408  from the photo i took!!!

Ooooh!  This is the sunroof version of mine!!

This has turned out to be a really interesting thread, as I've been trying to identify my car - red, brown, black, silver etc.  I have the same paint code as this, 408, which from the link somewhere on this forum says was used in Italy for a few years up until 1977.  My reg is '81, W, but I'd suspected it was older than that.  Looking at the VIN, I've got ZFA12600077... which now completely adds up.  So Rusty, mine took four years to sell!

Only difference is mine has chrome bumpers and wipers... Still don't know what 'kind' of Fiat 126 it is though - Personal 4?

If this is all correct, this de-ville could reasonably have been registered in '79 but probably built in '77?  Guess it sold before mine due to that flashy sunroof!

I gave a couple of parts of the bodywork a quick polish and they have come up a treat - a real shine to it!! Hopefully I will get a few offers for the old girl!!

I just sold mine for £1200.  Its not the best time of year to be honest & it took a while but persevere and don't let it go for anything less than what it deserves to go for.

BTW it took ebay after trying this forum to sell.
