bought my beautiful 126bis, seven days ago - instant-love!! i never thought it'd be possible to love some road-based thing more than a '60s vespa. but i was definitely wrong. what a treat it is to own/drive/adore. here she is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/j12t/sets/72157624376964757/  :) :D 8) [-/

i already have! and i'm absolutely non-maniacal! :P those petite wheels - with the proper 80/12-tyres - actually have 1mm More all-round circumference than the bis's original 70/13s! according to an amazing, on-line, 'tyre-area-calculator' i found! having looked at five, or six, original fiat 126 wheel-designs, i think i'm very lucky that the former-owner opted for these beauties! imo, they're the best-looking of the bunch! [but then, i guess i might be Slightly biased, as that is what i've got  ;D ] i can't stop driving it! its original 30k-mileage has shot up to 31K in Seven Days! oops! but i can forgive myself. i've already had a plethora of smiles - from a plethora of people [kids, 30-somethings, 50-somethings, 88-somethings, etc. : ] - the best decision i've made, in the last five years!  :D

i don't think they were bona fide m.d.'s, tbh; i suppose i could have offered them a lift 'home' - lol! i'm Sure they would've all squeezed in to my 126. somehow.  :o btw: the price on my avatar-126 was suspiciously-similar to the price i paid for my bis! does anyone else Not think they're going to be going for £8k/£9k/£10k, in 4-5 years' time?!?!

i see adverts now around the £2k mark  :D would be nice if prices went up (after i get 1 :D), i'd start importing now and sell them for a 'bargain' £7k   ;D

Personally, I think it is definitely a possibility. RHD 126s are getting rarer than the 500 and rarer still as the years go by, at least in the UK. Yes, why not, £7K for a mint 126 in 4 to 5 years time or perhaps a similar price range to that of a 500. If the cost of motoring continue to spiral upwards, these little beauties will be in demand - hopefully. Whatever happens, I love my 126 to bits.

this is always a good point of discussion - future value. The 600 is rarer than the 500, yet commands less. The 500 peaked in value on 2007 when top gear listed it 1st place in 100 sexiest cars, yet has gone down in value slightly since (not entirely in accordance with the recession), however the 126 has risen very quickly in the last 2 years, not sure how it will pan out yet.

Just on that point there are 3 500s for sale on New Zealands equivalent of ebay (Trademe) at NZ$10,000  NZ$17,00 and NZ$20,000 and a 126 P4 at NZ$3000. NZ$1 is about .47 pounds.

There is a recent thread from the "Fiat 126 Chat" section, entitled, 1978 126 Deville "Special Edition" (by Ciaoflyer). The seller of this mint 126 Deville was offered £7000!!! The trend is definitely upwards!!!
