engine transplant ... help me please
« on: November 11, 2005, 05:33:00 PM »
hello there , i have just picked up my free 126 fsm  :D   ...  and on inspection of the birds nest in the engine bay and the lack of engine i have decided to put my doner engine in it ,

is it hard to remove the old one, and can i do a straight swap ?? they are both 650 cc and all i need off the doner engine is the starter motor and distributer and carb .....

i have a haynes manual but just wanted to know if a pratical unexperienced person like myself could tackle such a  task and what do i need? tools? jack ???

and how do i remove the partial old one?

i have pictures of the car if anyone wants them .

please get in touch

all the best

richard

Hi Richard,

So you are the chap that got the 126 I phoned the guy up a day after and was told they had both gone, a girly had the other one and I have given her all the details of the site.
I will be coming over on Tuesday now all being well so I can give you a fair bit of guidance in regards to the job.

Congratulations are also due

John
