Passenger side headlight
« on: November 21, 2009, 04:35:40 PM »
Does any one have a spare passenger side UK spec headlight for sale? I read somewhere that it has do be UK spec but surely if I buy one that is not UK spec, I can always adjust it so that it is facing the correct side of the road. I noticed that my passenger side headlight is rusting. The reflector is still sound but there appears to be a build up of rust at the base of the reflector.

if you buy a left hand drive headlight the beam pattern will be the wrong shape no matter how much you adjust it the only thing you could do is to either attempt to transplant the glass from one to another or fix a stick on adaptor to the headlight glass.

Will installing non-UK spec headlights affect the MOT? Will the MOT guys actually check? The non-UK and UK spec headlight patterns probably look very similar. If Fiat UK no longer sells rhd headlights, what do others do when their headlights become defective.

they source a good second hand /nos headlight. the pattern on the left hand drive headlight throws the beam in the wrong direction (if you park about 1m away from a wall with your lights on you will see a pattern, the horn looking part of the beam will be on the wrong side on a left haned light this is what will pose the problem).
