I've just joined the Club having acquired a 126Bis from ebay. It wasn't exactly a barn find, but had been laid up for 3-4 years. Intend to get it running, pass it thro an MOT and then consider what to do with it based on what i find. Looks pretty solid, but i'm sure there will be some scarey bits. Not a big fan of the colour, but the true condition will dictate what happens next. So here's the ebay pictures, plus spares, i don't collect it till the 21/03/09.
Collected today on an Aframe, flat tyre caused a delay, but its arrived now appears very sound, spare wheel well almost spotless! So now its time to cost the restoration as its defo worth some money spending on her.
30/03/09 update
Bissy has now made its final journey for some months, too its second new home in as many weeks. So the weekend was spent taking bits off, naming and boxing lots of small parts of trim. In addition for phycological reasons i wanted to get the little chap fired up. So i spent an hour or two working with the two carbs supplied, both incomplete/corroded to try and make one functioning one. The carb a "god knows what make" that looks like a Weber copy, were in pretty desperate condition. I acheived partial success it fired up and revved, then died, so either a blocked main jet or lack of fuel, or whatever.
Next Major steps
Strip, weld, sandblast, zincspray, etch prime, prepare, paint, reassemble. (Cream, blue or Red)
Refurb running gear, plus lower and stiffen suspension.
Retrim interior (possibly around original design theme) based on X1/9 leather seats that i have.
Strip, clean and re-assemble and install standard engine.
Develop and fit tuned BIS engine based around the logic being discussed in the tuning forum "Bis Power Improvements"
(cc700 head, cc700 Cam timing plus!, Electrionic ignition, single/multipoint injection).
More Pictures to follow as when something happens, lets hope something does!

Spent today stripping out the car to find out quite what i'd got for my money. Really impressed with the lack of rust, it only has 1 or two very minor spots on it, quite a few dents of course, so next step is out with the Angle Grinder and possibly the welder, then off to the sand blasting/etc. once shes down to just the bare bones of the suspension. Engine and Gearbox out for a minor look over. Head off and a decoke/regrond valves, a Gearbox leak.
