Hi all!
« on: August 09, 2005, 12:59:58 PM »
Please see attached details of my Fiat 126 I brought on ebay - I did "buy it now" - I couldn't resist as I've been looking for one for ages.  Let me know what you think of it.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4563129068&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

I have loads of plans but for now at least its reliable!

Does anyone know the likely cost of a respray?

Look forward to hearing from you.

NB to Chris - my cheque for membership will be in the post shortly!

Hi there, a lovely purchase!! welcome to the club!

i think a respray would be between ?300 / 400 depending on where you go and who does it, and how well they will prepare it.

what colour you thinking of? same again?

Will you need a BIS workshop manual? i will post one with your membership!

regards

Not entirely sure of colour yet - keep changing my mind, but I'm verging on purple at the mo.  Do you think its best to keep original colour?

If anyone has any recommendations for places that do reasonable (but decent) respays in the Midlands please could you let me have details.

Re BIS workshop manual - yeah, that will be great - many thanks.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on what sort of seats are a good replacement that would be great.

I've just been looking at the Fiat photos - brill!

Is the paintwork not great? i always like to see an orginal car, but where BIS's are concerned there not all that old yet, so the different colour wont affect value, if anything it will increase it!

Any fresh layer of paint on a car (particulalry on cheap steel) is good, it will keep the rust away!

we'll stick your pics on soon to the owners pics section!

hahaha, we are not far off Vauxhall novas ourselves with our 4 speed gear box   we just need flourescent lights under our cars

I beat two boy racers the other day,  in an old mini they had tried to make it like a cooper. I couldnt believe it, my 126 v a Mini! I dont know how i did it, i'll put it down to them not being very quick   and my longer gear changes, as i looked in my mirror i left them grinning
