My 87 Fsm aircooled is looking for a new home.
car is burgundy with 25K, paint is faded but comes up fine with a coat of polish.
long MOT 9 months? but would sail through another tomorrow,
never been welded,
obviously been garaged & properly maintened most of its life.
just changed the gearbox for a good one which was opened and checked before fitting so no jumping out of gear
however car was sitting with its nearside next to the hedge for a year whilst it waited on a new box and now has 3 rust spots on that side,
haven't totally checked but from memory,
1st is under N/S headlight where the paint was damaged, 1inch by 3-4inch, goes right through the metal but easy repair
2nd N/S front wheelarch, front lower corner, approx 3 inch, grinder and dinitrol would remove as it isn't too bad
3rd, N/S sill lower rear corner 4inch by 3inch, would prob grind out without welding
Dent in O/S front panel around headlight and in bonnet front edge, with surface rust, will knock out with a little heat
dent in O/S wing behind arch, again will knock out with a little heat.
deep scratch on roof, has scored the metal and would need light fill to make perferct
I'm going to get my camera and get pics of all rust, dents etc including shots of the underside posted up in the next couple of days,
this car is really solid without the usual rot in floorpans etc and would make an A1 car with a couple of weekends elbow grease
if the owner is local I may even lend a hand/tools/advice.
not sure on price, think about £500ish.
