Anything to watch for?? Looks straightforward in the Haynes....

be carefull with the 4 17mm nuts that hold the spring to the blocks...........the studs are a lot longer than the nuts and are usually corroded or full of underseal,either way thay can snap.

the blocks can be badly corroded as well,so you may need to replace them.

otherwise its a doddle

The fun starts when you want to re-assemble it all !. I have one new block and one used block if you need them, both complete with rubbers.

indeed........unless you are refitting a reverse eye spring it is indeed fun,i put a lenght of timber between top shock mount and workshop roof beam, :shock: then jacked the standard spring in place,trolly jack one end at a time.........reverse eye is a doddle tho

this is how i blocked mine using 4"x 4" timber under the front chassis. as dave has mention 17mm nuts, clean with a wire brush and spray with lots of wd40, use gentle force on these four nuts if they get tight screw them back clean the threads and try again, the bolts are welded into the cross member (badly) and are easily dislodge, this happened to mine so i cut two flats at the end of the bolt so i could get a spanner on holding the bolt while undoing the 17mm nut to remove the block.

support the ends of the spring, there is alot of force there. BE SAFE
