throttle pedal

Hi guys just a quick question.

When I press my throttle down, it doesn't move back up once I take my foot off the throttle pedal, and just in case, yes when I do press down the throttle the intake does open.

Any idea what's causing that?

Hi, I suspect that the cable or linkage will be seized with it being stood, you can expect a lot more of things like that as you work your way thro the car....I've restored old mowers and ride on mowers....had to get the oxy acetylene torch to free some parts off....good luck with your project...you'll get plenty of advice from the guys on here....👍👍

If you pull the carpet back there's a tube on the floor that the gas pedal bar runs in with nylon bushes check it's not rusted up, when they rust it pinches the bar and seizes up, undo the two bolts, clean and reassemble with a smear of grease, don't use wd40 or spray oils they swell the nylon bushes and make it worse, I drove 200 miles to a show with a shoe lace tied between the gas pedal and window winder so I could pull the pedal back 😄
