BIS rear suspension spring removal?
« on: March 20, 2022, 02:00:09 PM »
Hi,
In the process of renewing the rear shocks on the BIS and noticed the upper and lower rubber mounts the springs sit in also need renewing. Any advice on easiest way to remove the springs to change the rubber mounts would be grateful. (I can't get spring clamps in there)
Thanks

If I remember when I changed my rear springs, I jacked the car on the jacking point, let the arm drop then help it by putting a scissor jack between the wheel arch and the arm which moved it down enough to pull the spring out

Thanks for that, what I did in the end was disconnect the driveshaft, just the 4 bolts.
The lower rubber mount the spring sits in needs replacing. Ricambio do one but it doesn't appear to have the step in it which is concerning as this ensures it sits level in the A- frame, not cheap either  ::)
I cannot see any other suppliers online, any ideas?

Update, spoke to Ricambio regarding the spring lower rubber and they had the wrong photo on their website which they have now changed showing the correct one with the step in it  :)
