Best way to remove windscreen without breaking it?

Anyone got any tips on removing/refitting the windscreen (I guess they are laminated), any advice appreciated. I've read a few posts which suggest..

- laying on your back and using feet. (not sure about that)

- Peel the rubber back slightly & pour in some washing up liquid then from inside push the screen in the top corner then work from outside.

- get two blunt screw drivers to lever up the rubber from inside and tuck it under,  starting from the corner then, push the corner out.

- or I'm thinking get a windscreen installer to do it and if it breaks he will absorb the cost of a new one.

I’ve only ever done it once but I found it quite easy. Working from the inside if you have a wide flat trowel like a wall paper scrapper (the more the better) start peeling the seal back from the top of the window. If you Work your tool carefully behind the seal and lever it slightly it should start to move the window. At this point don’t do anymore. The tool can stay where it is whilst you start levering with another tool on the other side and eventually the whole top of the window will be free then with gentle pressure press on the sides working the tool in between the seal and the bodywork until that’s all free then step outside and lift the whole lot up

It was one of those jobs I dreaded doing but turned out to be really simple

I removed and refitted ours much the same way the gadge describes, slow and steady is the key and once you get the top out the rest comes out quite easy

Neither of these are good ideas

- cutting the rubbers and replacing with new, good idea but 70 quid..

That video you posted was mintex himself, legend has it that he didn't really speed up the video at all.

Haha, yep, that was me and yes, i always work at that speed

If it is a laminated screen they are more prone to break than the toughened glass versions.

I pulled out all my windows recently getting it ready to paint- I brought one of them china special removal kits which was fairly helpful, and some interior trim tools, folded the rubber up on the outside and the inside (2 people) and pushed a thin plastic trim tool through, then pulled the trim tool around, pushed a wire in, pulled that around whilst folding the rubber back and then the screen popped out on one of the corners- then it was just the case of wiggling it out- took about half an hour but was better than kicking it out and buying a new screen
