Expansion Tank
« on: February 23, 2017, 03:47:11 PM »
Hi All
The time has come to hopefully sort all the coolant leaks on the Bis with all new gaskets and hoses,So I need to remove the hose on the bottom of the Expansion tank.
How easy is to remove the tank as I can not see any access to undo the hose. ???
Thank you
Cheers
Pete

It's easy enough just a bit fiddley. You have to remove the rear lamp, the grill and twist the electrical float switch out then remove the black inner boot cover which will expose three bolts that screw through the panel and into the tank. Then comes the fiddley bit. You have to detactch the tank from the filler neck which is joined by a small rubber hose. If the jubilee clips are at the right angle you can simply undo them and push the tank the oppersite way to release it. Once that's done you have to rotate the tank down and out of the lamp hole at which point you can undo the little jubilee clip that holds the small hose on. :thumbup
