ELX models and the MOT
« on: September 15, 2015, 10:47:41 AM »
I know there are a few quite old posts regarding this but has anyone any recent experience of getting a late Polish model through an MOT (I'm a bit concerned regarding catalytic converters and emissions). I don't want to buy one of these only to end up with an expensive ornament on my drive!  :headscratch:

My 126 actually has a CAT so I've been ok.  But I have heard of other people on the forum who have failed their MOTs because of not having a CAT when they were supposed to.   You are technically supposed to have one on the later models, but in practice I think it depends on the individual who performs the testing.

Have actually seen one not so long ago on ebay that was registered and on MOT had an advisory for not being able to detect emissions 😂 in short find a classic friendly garage and you should be fine.
