Help!!!!
« on: August 24, 2014, 03:49:15 PM »
Will I need a new head or can I get this fixed?! It's where the valve slides in (the side the spring sits at) and was taking the other valves out, I did the exact same (compressed the spring) the spring dropped off and so did the white thing and a chunk of my engine head! What's happened and can it be fixed?! Any help will be much appreciated :)

Hi and welcome to the club, if it's just the valve seat this is an inexpensive repair just find your local engine machinist and they will refit one as long as there is no damage to the head itself, most parts are available for the bis just check out the topsite link on the homepage of the club if you need more parts for your engine

Hope I've helped

Yeah, you could say that! Then again at first it looked like it was fitted into he block, but then I realized it was made from cast not ally so I got a small Alan key head bolt that fit inside the piece I wanted out, then hit a chisel into the bolt and it pushed it all the way through and out, ps I had heated he block first though so it made it a lot easier :)

That is the valve guide you are talking about there so you should be able to repeat the procedure to fit a new one. You may need to get the valve seat face recut  :)
