Gear stick

Hi All
Has anyone shorten their gear stick as I`m starting to get white knuckle on the knee :D
Was it much of a job

I'm after doing the same as long leg/3rd gear combo is not great.
Someone has done it recently on here.

Can't remember how much i chopped off I think it was about 3-4 inch, works better now ;D

What did you do Pete, Hacksaw it and bung the knob back on?

Hope it's that simple as it's just the mod I need. :)

Yes its that easy :P But.. mark the gear lever with the gear knob on so when you unscrew it you have to take that measurement into account when cutting, If you are going to glue it back on put a notch in the top but i just have mine floating.... Make's for race car changes HeHe ;D

I took a hacksaw to mine and removed about 5 cms.

The stick is a solid rod so you can be keen and retap the thread if needed. I didn't bother as the previous owner fitted a poncy momo solid allow knob with grub screws holding it.

I might lop another few cm's off it but it is much better.
