Hi there not sure if its a common problem but i m new to 126s

The aftermarket stereo (BLAUPUNKT DAB 52) switches itself off, when car is running, and when all lights and indicators are on. It comes back on when I canceled the signals...

Seems like it has a weak electric power apply?

What to look at and to cure?

Many thanks!

Forgot to mention it has very bright headlamps and apparently they are halogen

is it causing the problem? how do i check if it has correct relays fitted?

this is the famous "126 karaoke sing while you are turning" gremlin it sounds like the wiring is wrong and the stereo is turning off as it is not getting any juice when you indicate. two options are 1) sing,  2) rewire.  we could also ask Rusty to supply us with a Top Ten of turning tunes of all time"....

LOL many thanks Bis13 to point it out!

mmm, yes it is the stereo not getting enough juice, is there any discussion of how to re-wire it?

I need to make sure it is not the relays so I don't blow the switches... I am scared to drive it at night now, can someone confirm it is save to drive for now?

I would wire it straight from the battery, just make sure you put a fuse in.

Fiat electrics, got to love their quirkiness. I always thought it was a joke about Fiat electrics being dodgy, but wow I couldn't be more wrong! In mine if you've had both the headlights and windscreen wipers on, and you turn the headlights off first, the wipers won't turn off, sometimes they decide to go to intermittent which actually doesn't work at any other time, or it just remains at the faster speed  ??? Also the indicator signal on the dashboard isn't working so I don't know when my indicators are on unless I either see in the reflection of another car or actually look at the indicator stalk.

i wired my stereo (when i bothered to fit one) directly to the battery and ran an in line fuse, this set up meant the music stayed on when sitting waiting for the recovery.....(this was in a bis may i note). now days i do not bother with a radio/cd player as the tune of my engine is music to my ears....

Have you got a lighter in your car? If you do not, I wonder whether you can connect the stereo to the lighter. If you take the air/heater controls panel out, there will be two wires there for the lighter.

If your car has not been rewired, the wires should be there.

Well I would have to go with the Byrds "Turn, turn , turn" and possibly follow up with Edith Piath & "No Regrets"  ;)
Can't think of 8 more at the moment  :$
