May I suggest next time you try removing sound deadner , cover it in dry ice for an hour or so then remove ice and smash floor with hammer , it shatters and comes off very easily.

Hi,

I havent posted for a long time, been busy with work doing an avg of 63 hrs a week.

A couple of tips - you can take em or leave em.

I would brace the inside diagonally (side to side & front to rear) before chopping any further. I found that after the roof gutters and floor is cut out the whole car becomes a lot more flexy. I braced before cutting to keep the rigidity.

I also would not worry about what others on the forum think, thats their opinion and they're entitled to it. Its also the reason i havent posted my projects yet but rest assured they will on the forum when the time comes.

Are you planning to use the original rear swing arms? If so, I would seriously consider looking at alternatives as the originals cant handle the power and will buck and jump under power. In my opinion you need an arm with less swing.

The "wolf in sheeps clothing" approach wont work. These engines not only have an excellent (read loud) exhaust note, they also generate a lot of mechanical noise from the engine itself, so try as you might to keep it standard looking, the game will still be given away by the noise.

I also have a 1000cc project that is a rear mount in order to have the cabin seat 4 and have exactly the same engine as yours. Do you have the whole bike? so you can use the dash etc...

Try to use the original clutch lever. I modified my clutch pedal to accept the gsxr's clutch rod ( had to cut a whole in the firewall) and then just simply got a hose fitter to extend the hydraulic line to the gearbox.

I would also try to use the original gear change mechanism from the bike. I simply ran a s/steel cable thru the foot lever and used spindles to get the cable to sit where i wanted.

The most important thing is time. Unfortunately I dont have enough time to dedicate to the projects lately, which pisses me off, but career comes first, toys come later.

Cheers

Hi there, I Have most of the parts from the bike. But not the instrument, But i  am going to buy that later on so i can use it on the car.

I don't bother the bad critics from people, i know that this project is going to finished . But i can't say when.

I am not going to use the org rear swing arms.

When i cut in the car i noticed that the car become very flexible but i dont think its much of a problem. as long as i don't put in the engine before i fix some reinforcement.  I have lot of time. But you got to have motivation. I have it from time to time.

I can't answer all the questions? due to my bad english i don't understand it all. ( To lazy also).

Cheers.

Tell me if im wrong, as I am not an engineer by any stretch of the imagination, but with that much bodywork missing, isn't the integrity and strength of the car now gone?

Otherwise looks good!  ;D

Cheapest front end conversion I've seen was about 700pounds. Easier to make one yourself I rekon.

Tom, my engineer knocked my 1300 project on the head because I cut up my car in a similar way.

My 1000 project has had "only" these pieces removed and its with engineer approval. Dont want to have two "track only" cars so this one is being built by my engineers guidelines.

Can anyone guess where they came from?

The bottom piece of sheet metal is from under the HT coil on the right side of the engine bay. That is where you screw the extra metal sheet that covers the muffler (sort of heat shield and also keeps dirt off the distributor.)
