Help!
It's MOT time for my 1983 aircooled. I've just replaced the headlights as the old ones were cracked/rusty and wouldn't have got through another MOT (warned last time) and the next job is to replace the steering column switch gear as the dipped beam contact have burnt out (so it's sidelights or full beam with nothing in between).
Got the old switchgear off no problem, order a new set of series 1 switches from Axel Gerstl but they have no stock. Now I'm a big fan of 126FAN but as I needed the new switch pronto, I thought I'd pay the extra. Anyway, Axel were out of stock so next choice for fast delivery were fiat500ricambi, which helpfully had a picture of the connectors on the switchgear which matched mine (see below).
Well, having forked out €17 for UPS delivery, I've just got home from a bad day at work to find the new switches delivered with a completely different set of connectors (the red and white male connector blocks are 2 x 3 with 5 prongs in each rather than 2 x 2 with 4 prongs). I am hopping as I have the day off tomorrow to get the car fettled and through the test!
Rant over, but in the meantime does anyone have a working early aircooled column switch (with the connectors as in the pic) up for grabs?
Cheers,
Mike
