Speedo Cable

Does anyone know if I can use a speedo cable meant for an aircooled model on my Bis?

hi,my speedo cable doesnt work either,but when i disconnect it from the dash and move the car backwards and forwards it works.i dont understand why it wont register on the speedo but hasnt been drivern for many years.just check to see if your does the same before you order or but a new one?

weird that toz, i was saying the oteh day that for a few days after driving my BIS for the 1st time after  7 years the speed was in correct, but eventualy it freed itself up and no is perfect.although a whole different thing if nothing is registering.

i used to see them on ebay alot,
