Defo any 500 is worth fixing, but perhaps not if you gotta pay someone to do the work... ;D

It's just a 500, so what? Anyone who wants mine? Am looking for a 126 sunroof-body!

I can understand your position. But yours has another background than mine. In Germany the 126 has become the rare car, all the years people collected 500 and 126 where worn and kicked off. Sure, the 500 is a nice car, but there are much more of them than 126. As you may know, in Germany we can have a "Historic registration" for 30 year old cars, which allowes driving into economic zones and an equal standard tax for those cars, not depending on capacity or performance. You can recognize this by the "H" at the end of the number:

But this registration can be denied, if there are too many cars of one sort. This concerns the VW bug, f.e., and in some areas the 500, too.
Plus, all the years there came 500 from Italy and floated the market. I really can't see them anymore... >:(
Actual ebay.de-quote 500:126 = 12:4  :-X

12:4?? wow, i understand now.. here its like 126:500 = 50:1 or more  :( thing is that most of the 126es are the fsm-s made in the eighties so theyre not that old to be a oldtimer... the original fiats are as rare as the 500

In australia the 126 is much rarer but it's the early 90's version, and they have a kind of poor man's 500 feel about them. dont get me wrong, I love my 126 and I'll keep one for the rest of my life, but I'd definately drive a 500 if I had the money.

having said that, the 126 is much more commonly seen on the road (up to 5 sightings in a year!:P) because very few people drive their 500's every day compared to 126s.

Andi. How much are you wanting for me to clear the plentiful 500 from your driveway, giving space for more sought after 126's..... [-/

Puch go for double price, in all conditions. But i wonder, if this is worth it...
500 in the condition as mine go for 800,-EUR (680,-GBP).
Lindsay offert her RHD-William, in which i'm interested, but she doesn't answer anymore. If she'd sell it to me, you could bring it over with your trailer, and then my 500 goes for 500,-EUR (425,-GBP)!

yeah theyre meant to have around 30hp against the standard 24.. they sound REALLY different too.. judging from videos at least:P it's cos it's a horizontally opposed twin cylinder instead of inline..
I'm also interested in hearing about those from you andi.

My dude has a Puch 126, but he is very disappointed about the performance, although he spend a lot of money for engine-rebuild and professionell setup. The onliest superlative of this Puch is the sound: It rattles like a can of shells...

The Steyr Puch engine, coupled to an auto box, was also used in the blue disabled cars that were around in the 70's. Unfortunately they were all owned by the government and leased out, at the end of their lives they were all (but a few) destroyed.
