My mum bought me a 126 as a first car and to learn to drive in.
At first i was scared of it (because the engine was really loud and i kept stalling it) but know iv got acquainted with it, its so much fun to drive and i love it.
At one point we were going to sell it, the advert was up and everything but then we changed our minds and took it down or made it ridiculously high so no-one would buy it.
A few months down the line the car has already cast its spell on us, now we're hooked. Seriously the family VW is sooooooo dull in comparison.
The car is a water cooled, 1991, 9500 mileage, in great condition the paint-work is in great nick shiny and everything (garage kept its whole life) .
Everything is original even it's spare tire has been with it all its life never needed to be changed. It runs perfectly. when we got it serviced as a specialist fiat garage they couldn't find anything needing work to it except the petrol pipe got replaced (because the petrol corroded it a little during the 16 years it had been in there) but even that wasn't necessary.
Since we've had it the engine is sounding ever better as it likes to be used.
...enough of the babble I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS TO ASK..
Reading up on here it sounds like air cooled ones are more sort after, is this because they are older or does it work better somehow??
We paid £2000 for ours, was that a bit foolish? It included tax mot and it was deliverd to us from Bournemouth to london.
I know of a one recently sold for £2995 it was cream with 14000 miles, the advert is in loot, when i called up they said it sold for the asking price.
