Bis Fan and two stage switch
« on: February 18, 2007, 07:44:59 PM »
Hi
I have just fitted a new two stage auto switch for the fan but it dosen't seem to be working.  At what point on the temp guage should the fan come on, about halfway?  When my engine got hot I had to put on my manual fan switch to cool it down, this worked so fan must be OK.

How can I test the two stage fan switch?
Cheers

ps. took her out garage this weekend and the dipstick popped out and blew oil everwhere, very messy!

stick a bit of tape around the stopper to make it fit a little tighter. but make sure your wind it around the top as well or you can loose it down the hole!

You have to carry out the saucepan test. Dangle the sensing end in a saucepan of water on your cooker. Attach the ends of your test meter to the black and white bare ends and when the temp. reaches 87deg(slow speed) your meter needle should move to indicate circuit has closed. Repeat the process with the red and black to confirm the high speed at 100deg.
