Rear arch replacement panels
« on: November 07, 2014, 11:18:11 AM »
Hello all!  Been a while, I know... 126 is still in the process of being restored (will put some pics up in the resto section here later, I promise!)

The guys doing the project have got stuck, as the replacement repair panels for the rear arches are not the same profile as the arch they're replacing and we need to find replacement panels that have the right profile... the images below should show what I'm trying to say:

This is the replacement repair panel.

And this is the template of the new panel against my original one, showing the difference in the profile.

We've been in touch with Axel Gerstl and a few others, but can't seem to find a source of replacement panel that has the straight edges - can anyone help with this please??  I really want to keep this resto authentic to the car's age!

I would guess that they are pattern panels which are very often are slightly different that the manufacturers original parts.
There are original replacement panels currently on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Fiat-126-Rear-Left-Fender-Wing-Body-Panel-FREE-WORLD-POST-/221567953521?hash=item33967aaa71&vxp=mtr but check first that they are the correct ones.

Hi Chris, thanks for that :-) Can't believe how difficult it is to find the right panels!
