hello from oxford
« on: August 23, 2013, 08:03:31 PM »
hello folks, im new to the 126 owners club.
ironic really as i dont yet own a 126
i say yet, as i am searching "frantic style" for the right 126 to buy
i will post my requirements in the "wanted" forum and hope i get lucky.
ive owned many classic's over the years and am really into 70's motors.
ive previously owned
austin, maxi, allegro, princess and mini clubman estate.
countless vauxhall chevette's including the now extremely rare estate model ( only 6 survive i believe)
also mk11 escort, mk5 cortina
and lastly a series11 land rover 2 1/4 diesel lwb
oh and ive also got a 1982 ford lorry ( up for sale to finance the purchase of the fiat 126)
so anyway, hello from sunny oxford. :yahoo:

Welcome, nice to see a classic enthusiast going for a 126. Is the Lorry a D Series? Getting rare now.
Any questions just ask, this is a good forum full of nice people.

ive owned a fair few more classic/retro cars than those listed, bmw, ford A510 camper ( the lwb 3 window one for those in the know)
the 126 was destined to be a classic and i think they are a lovable alternative to the mini, infact ( some would disagree with me for saying this) i would say better option than the mini, i see mini's almost every day ( the real one's not the bmw rubbish they churn out of a factory here in oxford lol)
cant remember the last time i see a 126 drive past, for that reason alone i have to have one.

not too sure about the lorry marc, its an early cargo horsebox
the wife used it for her old horse, she's got a new horse now, clydsdale heavy horse or something like that, its not far off 18 hands and still growing and unfortunately dont fit in the back
it was used regular upto around a year ago
i see loads of ford cargo's on the road but none as old as mine yet.
