13 inch wheels are standard on the 126 BIS. Think the 127 engine and box might be a bit of a squeeze though.

Because there isn't much room. You can put what you want in one, it just depends on how much work you want to do, and how good you are. There were a couple of v8 126's near Norwich in the eighties. Have you looked at smallcox's car yet?

type in smallcox on the forum search, I think he has covered most of it, just not all at the same time.

Welcome to the forum, by fitting a fiat 127 transverse engine and gearbox into the back of a 126 is really a big job, you have to cut the floor and fire wall out from the back of front seats, This link to TRS racing shows what is involved. Its not a simple job.

I`ve seen some of the 126 with the 127/903cc engine mounted to the standard gearbox, but I`m not sure if you need an adapter plate for this.
I know the 903cc engine bolts straight on to the 600 gearbox, as we`ve done this before. The 600 gearbox is also a bit stronger, so this would be a good option. I never had both gearboxes side by side, but I can`t imagine there would be too much difference.
I was playing with this idea for ages, as the 903cc engine is very sturdy, gives good MPG and should be easily and reliably good for about 50-55hp.
