Are these late lefties any good ?

I have seen on eBay in the last week or so two left hooker polish  126 's  , one did not sell and the other was well cheap.
Does nobody rate them ? Or are they just not seen as desirable ?
I have a g reg English reg rhd but I think to myself hey these polish ones are near mint for £500 ish

Now it depends on what you get out of having a fiat 126 , either you want something different and sought after or you just enjoy a blast down the road in a fun car ?

Personally I reckon a lhd car would be just as much fun , the damn things are so small what difference does a foot make in seating position ?

To my mind if you are one of these who must have the oldest / rarest / cleanest , car out there , it all gets a bit anal ?

If I was out and I saw another 126 , I would want to stop and talk to the driver and laugh about our cars , I would not care if his was a lhd rhd mulch polish uk rusty mint , whatever ?

It's all about the fun and quirkyness of having one !

My daily driver is a a4 avant tdi 6 speed 130 bhp , but I get more fun out of getting Luigi out of his lockup and going for a blast !

I wish I could use him everyday like some of you guys do , anyway what do you guys think ?

I think they can be a bit awkward to MOT, noise level or emissions, should be sortable though.

Hi Lived in Poland for 13 years, MOT is very easy to 'arrange' in Poland, so the fact it has MOT means nothing at all. Hiding dodgy repairs is seen as the norm in Poland. Most will have the lovely plastic innerwing protectors fitted. The newest 126s were made from very very thin metal and rot superfast, I have even seen the rotting above the windscreen .
I am not saying they are all dodgy but look very very carefully. Most adverts quote, just needa form and £55 to register, if so they would have done it surely??

I bought mine cheap as it was on polish plates! It was easy to re-register (just an mot and a small fee + road tax).  Dont be put off by the polish plate, if you excercise the same caution when buying any classic in regards to rust and past repairs you shouldnt have any issues! Mine is very rust free up top and just a few bits were needed below!

As for LHD vs RHD. It doesnt bother me, especially as its so small you can still reach for tickets at barriers etc!

I think it is the post export market ones that have problems conforming, older ones are probably the same, but not subject to as strict tests. I cannot find the relevant post (not sure it was on here) but people were having issues.
