« on: September 27, 2011, 11:31:37 AM »
Hi,
I have read a few topics that some people would like to buy a good example and they having a trouble to find it in UK.
I have a plan to import one for myself from Poland. If any one is interested how to do it or how much is going to be I would be pleased to give a hand.

Just be careful, very careful. If you think buying a car off Ebay is risky, buying in Poland is much, much worse.

it depends what u looking for and I wouldn't say it is risky
best is to look on the internet for a car u r interested in , on top of that u should add around 500 pounds for transport, reg fee in uk max 100. sounds a lot but u may be able to find something really good or unique

Try allegro.pl

Search for 126p, or Maluch.

It says bidding got to about £7,000 but didn't reach the minimum.

He got the car cheap and is convinced it is worth a fortune.

Sorry no standard 126in Poland  is worth that sort of money yet, that is why they are bringing them over here to try to make more.

As I said Allegro.pl is the place to look, or one of the many 126p clubs.

I wouldnt bother importing one from poland, 126s come up from time to time on ebay in the uk with many excellent examples, weather you want an early car or a bis. Polish cars are just a hassle and I reckon worth less when you come to sell here in the uk. Personally i think they are less desirable. As for £7000 pfffft.  you could by a perfect as new Bis for £2000 and even air cooled for not to much more.

Plenty of choice in poland, I agree, but there they are seen as a 'crap' car, so in general are not looked after, just run into the ground. Mechanics in poland will normally make do, keep a car running.
UK cars are normally better taken care of.
As I said before, be very careful buying a car in Poland unless you really know what you are looking at. A Polish MOT is very easy to buy, Poles have been buying written off cars from Germany for many many years and turning them into 'new cars' ???
Tarting up a 126 is easy.
