Cold starting tips?

Morning all
Although my BIS is garaged for the winter, I can't resist the occasional trip to work in the little fella now and then. However, I've found that it needs a bit of encouragement during these colder days.
Any tips for starting your 126 in the cold? Mine can be a little bit of a struggle and I'm wondering if there are any tricks or proven methods to get them going in the morning.

First thing is to make sure your motor is in good tune!
Timing, spark plugs, contact points etc;

The battery must also be in top shape, any dodgy batteries will show up in the cold weather which will mean reduced cranking speed and a poor ignition spark.

Some tips from the good old days:

Before parking your car up for the night, pull the choke out and let the engine run for a few seconds, before shutting the engine off.

You can also cover the engine up with a cover such as an old blanket, dont forget to take it off in the morning though!

yes iv heard about putting a blanket on the engine!  one story i heardwas that  someone did just this, next morning drove off to work the car cauaght fire. (car started really well though)   must of been all that heat!!
