im sorry to hear the car wasnt in a god state, but not worth scrapping it if body work is straight surely?

if its been stood for a while, get a new battery and some fresh petrol in the tank, thats a good start, also if it didnt idle properly it could be over fuelling.

Yes, I bought the car from Ebay. Unfortunately, I broke my own golden rule of viewing the car first before buying. After cleaning the car (it was a tough job taking a mound of bird droppings from the hood, windshield and part of the roof), it is actually not too bad. There are no dents apart from a small one on the driver's door and a badly repaired section on the driver's side front fender. There also appears to be some repair to the bodywork under the windshield, so this has to be looked at and fixed. The paint work is faded (apart from the roof) but I managed to rejuvenate large sections of it with T-Cut polish, so it looks presentable. As I was applying the T-Cut, I was a little bit stunned by the thinness of the body shell!

It has an MOT (from April 2009) and road tax. I am getting Proetti to tow the car to thier garage today.
