Hi hi!!

Last year i bought a family sized 20mpg Saab 2.3 turbo. It turns out i only really use it for commuting to work and home (barely a 5 mile trip    ) so now thinking of getting a smaller car! Ive had a few minis over the years so used to tinkering with engines etc  :D

im a bit suprised to see a couple of posts with regards to fuel consumption in this forum, how much fuel can something less that 1 litre possibly consume?!

i'll be having a read up anyway  :D

cheers

Gordan

Hy!

THe latest issue of Practical Classics states that the early 600cc engines did 50mpg. the later watercooled BIS models had declared 5.8l/100 km city and 4.8l/100 km at a constant speed of 90 km/h. However these are all factory consumption rates with a perfect carb, and as i found out the consumption greatly depends on the state of your carb.... so i get about 7l/100km in my bis...

hope this helps at all...

and welcome
