Ive seen a site where someone has managed to fit a bike engine in the back of a 500

is the boot on a 126 the same kinda size??

Plent of space for any bike engine. As mentioned here many many times anything will fit if you have the will and the cash.

People have fitted Fireblade, R1 allsorts, also anything from 900cc Uno to big block Chevy.

Just do a search on youtube fun to watch (turn up the volume for best effect)

yea but only thing is i dont wanna loose the back seats! ive seen the white one labelled as a panda, looks good but all the rear seats have been ripped out

most of the bikie conversions involve losing the back seats, I ve been looking into doing it and this seems to be the only way, (awaits to be corrected)

you might be able to do a vertical chain drive and pack it all in the boot but I dont think it will be easy..(or cheap)

Mic,

I think that's because most of the common bike setups are similar to kit car/Z-cars installations and space isn't an issue (who needs back seats?!). Plus the advantage of moving the engine forward is better weight distribution.

Think you're right: There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to make up a chain diff cradle below the engine mounts (might have to be selective with the engine choice and look at dry sump etc to keep the deck height low). Might also limit ground clearance a bit because you could end up with the driveshafts offset down.

If you're ok with a welder and reasonably practical... nothing's impossible.
