126p rack + pinion steering: oil in gators?
« on: June 11, 2020, 02:55:22 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I pulled back the gators on my 126p rack + pinion steering and a quantity of oil ran out. Looks like gear oil. I thought the rack is usualy just greased inside gators (not oil).
Does anyone have advice on why previous owner may have put oil in here?

The previous owner must have thought oil was correct.
I'd release one of the gaiters, jack the car up on one side and allow the oil to drain, then pump fresh grease back in
