1990 126 BIS track car style
« on: February 21, 2016, 07:37:14 PM »
I've started a new thread as I couldn't find the old one. The BIS is going through some changes :) what started as a standard looking white 126 BIS has turned into a stripped car and a big pile of bits in the corner of the garage :)

It looked like this a year or so ago.

Anyway here's some more up to date photos.

The arches are :-

I haven't fitted them yet, still waiting on a new trigger for my welder, I decided against the FIRE engine conversion.  So I'm keeping the lovely bis engine but adding a small turbo and intercooler and front radiator, hence the hole in the front. If I have to SVA it then so be it because of the new rules on cutting the shell I really don't mind cos I love this car and I'm going to make it as nice as I can.

I'll keep you all posted.

Fibreglass , I'm going to epoxy them in holding them in place with either pop rivets or screws and then remove and smooth them in. and seam seal all the underneath.

PU adhesive would be ideal for this. A lot of car manufacturers are using PU adhesive for panel bonding. A cheap tube off ebay will cost £5 or so. If you want the proper stuff make sure it's made by sika. No need for pop rivets as well.

I bought a similar set of arches, but from Croatia I think, the rears fit OK but the front don,t fit very wall. They also only give an extra 25-30 MM. additional width. it looks from the photos your wings fit really well, mine cost £140 +postage significantly more expensive.
