EMBASSY F1 TEAM FIAT 126 GRAHAM HILL

Hi All:

As a Fiat 126 and a motorsports fan I found by chance the perfect link between my great passions and found some interesting photos about a liveried Embassy F1 Team Fiat 126, used by Graham Hill in the early 70s
As far as I know, In 1973 the Fiat dealer in Edinburgh decided for advertising to give the team Embassy Hill a Brand new Fiat 126, the car was to be used as Paddock car and for moving from hotels to circuits




Does someone has photos of info about it?

Thanks Michael, but it is not the original car....looks a cheap recreation as the livery itself does not match wih the original one

In one of my earliest copies of the Fiat Motor Club GB from 1985 there is an article on Fiat 126s which includes a photo with the quote "Graham Hill with the 126 in Embassy racing colours outside the casino in Monte Carlo" the article goes on to say that it was his own car & that he had it specially painted in his racing livery when he formed his F1 racing team. The reg no is RMM 441L.

In an interview with Damon Hill, published in Motorsport magazine some time ago, he recalls: “The team shuttle was a tiny Fiat 126. I remember in Barcelona going from the hotel to the track at Montjuich Park with about 10 people squeezed in!!!”

You're right about that auction.
I only gave it a quick glance, but it has been described as an 'homage' but it looks like a re-painted later model.

Not so sure about it being a homage. I guess that they removed the later plastic bumpers but could not shell out a few euros to fit chrome like the original. Later wheels etc and the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
I did try writing to Damon Hill a couple of years back courtesy of the BRDC HQ at Silverstone but sadly never got an answer. I tried asking about that car and also about an Ivory (yellow) 126 Bis that was always parked in the BRDC enclosure around the days of Nigel Mansel going into Damon Hill.
It seems that the RMM registration is an interesting connection with 126s
