Anyone tried it?
Seems fairly strait forward however I can see myself getting a shock or two and burnt fingers.

I used one years ago, it's ok for getting the mixture set for idle so that the idling is smooth. If I remember you have to make sure that the glass doesn't get sooted, otherwise you will have difficulty viewing the combustion flame, there should be a cleaning kit included in the kit.

I have one and used it to tune up a 2 stroke twin motorbike, much easier than removing the plug, adjusting,running, removing the plug to check again.

Used to take ages setting each carb up, this made it much less trouble

I own one but never had any luck with it setting up the carb on the 126 bis. I also have Gunson's Gastester which seems a much more useful tool in my eyes.

I wound the mixture screw in (lean) so far the engine was almost stalling and jumping around and running unevenly - the Colortune plug showed blue. The gastester said 0.5%. The other spark plug in the engine now had white deposits.

Next I turned the mixture screw out a few more turns untill the engine seemed "happy" and idled very smoothly - the colortune showed blue - the gastester said 1.7%, the other plug had light brown deposits.

Next I screwed out the mixture screw a long way until the engine was hunting badly it was so rich - the Colortune just stayed blue - the gastester said 3.7% and the other plug now had black deposits.

So I settled on the middle setting where it was happy but learned nothing at all from the Colortune - It always displayed blue.
