I wanted to make my 126 look a bit different....
I considered these on ebay and asked the seller if he could change the script to "FIAT 126", but in the same font as "ABARTH"

Very helpful seller - he just charged me the same price as advertised and seemed quite keen to quote for any one-off designs

« Last post by Amateb8 on September 20, 2023, 09:07:18 PM »I changed the ignition coil, and it seemed to cure the condenser issue. I drove it for an hour or two with no issues. Fingers crossed!
I initially didn't think it was the ignition coil that was causing the problem. It is relatively new. I changed it when the car was getting restored in 2016.

« Last post by Njkip on September 07, 2023, 05:17:33 PM »Forgot to say ...you obviously have to remove the retaining pins that hold the shoe to the backplate then you can prise them forward...and when refitting put the heel of the shoe behind the stop and push it back to the backplate...

« Last post by Njkip on September 07, 2023, 05:12:53 PM »Hi Andy, I've done my fronts recently but used to do them on my mini. I find it easier to pull or prise the bottom of the shoe over the bottom stop then it releases the tension on the spring. I do the opposite to fit them ...anchor the springs put one shoe in place the prise the other over the stop plate, make use of the shoe as a lever I've never had any problems doing it that way....trying to hook the spring on when the shoes are in place....get some plasters ready...!!

Fiat 126 Mechanical Problem Solving / Wiring Issue When Installing New Radio/Cassette Player

I bought a Pioneer P3650 radio/cassette player on ebay. Tested it on my work bench with the battery out of my aircooled 1989 Fiat 126. Worked fine.
Located 3 wires hanging under dash when it looks like a radio might have been fitted by previous owner but subsequently removed.
3 wires, black, yellow/black, green/red.
I connected the yellow/black & green/red wires together and connected them to the orange wire (power to radio regardless of ignition) joined with the red wire (power controlled by ignition). Connect Black (ground) to radio black wire.
Switched on radio and it worked fine but as soon as I connected the radio the front and rear side lights came on.
I have tried connecting yellow/black and green/red separately to the orange & red on the radio but couldn't get the radio to switch on (no power) even with the ignition on.
Does anyone know how to avoid this issue of the front and rear side lights coming on with radio? I could just run separate new wires to the battery and leave the yellow/black & green/red wires alone.
