Title: VIN plate location
Post by: Rusty's Uncle on July 06, 2015, 05:31:20 PM
Can someone help and tell me the exact location of the VIN plate on a 1981 126. I thought the location had been hidden by a modern radio but having removed it I can't even find any holes where the plate might have mounted.

Hi Rusty, it's normally either on the top of the wheel arch or on the upper bit of the inner front panel near where the details are embedded in the bodywork.  I can ping you some pictures of where it is on mine if it helps.

Hi BV, any pic would be a help even if it just eliminates where it is not.  :)

Cheers Chris. The radio had been fitted close to the location but with your photo I found the original holes covered by small bits of tape but sadly the vin plate is missing  :(

You can but replacement VIN plates if you need them, Rusty, there easy enough to get off of eBay. Is it something else you needed the VIN plate for?

No I just wanted a VIN plate and wondered if it might have been relocated  :)
