Title: r1 cinversion

Hi all
Thinking of putting an r1 engine in 126 just wondered what would be the best way of fabricating a conversion plate for the drive, would the ecu need remapping as well, if anyone on here's done this before would much appreciate any information

Unfortunately we are in uncharted territory here ::) I have not seen or herd of a 126 which is road legal in the U.K. that has a motor bike engine conversion, there are videos on youtube but these are specials built for racing and hill climbs and don't have to comply with VOSA rules and regulations, a few years ago a guy had this 126 built http://club126uk.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=5582.0 but its still not on the road :(

Thanks will have to check vosa regulations,  it might have to be a track car

It's only a pipe dream at the moment will need to have a full readability study into the costs and design ideas, like the way he's done his project, would like to keep it as original looking as possible

We were looking into engine conversions when a friend of mine was going to build a race car. The diff isthe hardest part when using a bike motor.
An easier alternative is to use a rotary motor with an adaptor plate to a vw beetle independant suspension type gearbox.

Have contemplated using a rotary but prefer the idea of a bike engine, it's more work to get right at the start but thinking for the long run itll be easier to maintain a bike engine
