Title: Valve stem oil seals
Post by: dadandlad on April 29, 2015, 04:55:20 PM
Just putting my Bis engine back together and discovered the valve stem oil seals I ordered are incorrect
I bought four 7mm seals
Looking at my head it only has two seals on the inlet valves and these measure 11mm the exhaust valve guides aren't stepped for seal fitment is this correct
The guides are the originals
Where can I get the 11mm seals and if anyone wants a set of four 7mm seals they are free to a good home

There should not be a seal on the exhaust valves. Air cooled engines just have a couple of plain o-rings on the inlets but the later engines have that step in the valve guide to accommodate a cap type seal same as the Panda 30

They're are only valve stem seals on the inlet valves. Axel Gerstl in Germany can supply the correct seals required as I also ended up with the wrong ones when I misordered from there before.  You need the 8mm variant.
