Title: Gearbox suggestions???
Post by: Dom.kelltt on April 25, 2015, 08:30:33 PM
Right, I know people disagree with my theory of putting a Subaru engine in my bis, however, I've been offered one for a small fortune,

So, my question is, what gearbox does everyone think will be best????

Any suggestions?

Dom

Might be worth looking at VW stuff and see if a modification can be done.

You can use a Subaru gearbox with a reverse crown wheel and pinion, complete gearbox £3000 or you could do the mod yourself for about £1000 expensive but would be able to take the power.

You need a donor car-I have a up spec forester I might want to get rid of soon...

Do a Google search for fiat 500 Subaru engine swap look under images and you should see a blue 500 viewed from below showing Subaru engine and box in place.

Im currently in the process of getting a gear set made to handle 300hp atw for the standard box. If there is enough interest i can get more made.
